Crisis Response & Recovery
Sonoma County Crisis Response System of Support (SOS)
Schools often need to respond to mental health crises such as the death or serious injury of students or staff. These events disrupt the normal operations of the school and affect both students and staff. The Sonoma County School Crisis Response System of Support was created in 2005 to make assistance readily available to both large and small schools. It supports the autonomy of individual schools and seeks to empower them to organize a crisis response with the help of their own staff and/or outside resources, as needed.
