Weekend iPad Summit draws big crowd

The Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) hosted a day-long iPad Summit on Saturday, November 7, attracting more than 130 teachers. Twenty different sessions taught educators how to integrate the iPad into their teaching, from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Classes ranged from Coding & Robotics for Primary Students, to Designing Visual Thinking and Learning, to Google Apps on the iPad, to iPads and Creativity.
Presenters included nationally recognized Apple Distinguished Educators Ben Friesen, Ken Shelton, David Freeburg and Julene Reed along with local experts Adrienne Olufs (Penngrove Elementary), Tami Jimenez (Petaluma Junior High School) , Krista O'Connor (Petaluma High School), Greg Raiewski (Casa Grande High School) and SCOE’s Technology for Learning Director, Rick Phelan.
Another Technology for Learning weekend summit is being planned for April 9 and 10 and will feature Google Apps for Education. More details can be found here: http://ca.gafesummit.com/sonoma.
