Study of West Sonoma County School District Unifications Outlines Challenges
12/13/2024 -
Consultant Christy White on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, presented publicly the findings of a study examining the feasibility of creating two unified K-12 school districts in the current footprint of the West Sonoma County Union High School District. The study was conducted at the request of the Forestville Union School District board of trustees and presented at a special meeting of that board.
White’s study concluded that such a proposal likely would not meet two of the nine criteria that the California Board of Education would use to evaluate a potential merger of districts.
There is no current petition to unify or combine school districts in west Sonoma County. The study is exploratory in nature.
