Sonoma County Schools Hazard Mitigation Plan
The Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) has been awarded a grant to assist in developing a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan that will cover all school districts in Sonoma County. This process will take approximately two years to complete and will need to be reviewed every five years in the future. With this plan, districts will be eligible to apply for grants to help with mitigation projects that are identified. Information and updates for participating school districts can be found here.
The Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) is in the process of creating a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (Plan). The Plan identifies a range of natural hazards with the potential to significantly impact SCOE facilities as well as all of the facilities within each of the SCOE districts. The Plan provides a list of mitigation action items that will be used in the future to reduce impacts from the identified hazards.Part of the FEMA-mandated approval process for the Plan requires sharing the document with the general public as well as external agencies (jurisdictions served, utilities, special districts) in order to solicit input during the plan writing phase.
We are asking you to please review the draft version of the Plan and share your comments with us by February 16, 2023. The plan and survey for your comments can be found at www.scoe.org/hazardmitigation. You are not required to provide your personal information but it will be helpful if you are requesting a response to a question.
