March 15th Site Visits

Members of the EL Collaborative will be visiting/hosting one another at each other's sites on March 15th. Please remember that these visits will be held in lieu of our March meeting at SCOE and our next ELC will be held on Tuesday, May 17th. Please see below for important information regarding the upcoming site visits.
- Student engagement is the focus of our visits. Our overarching question is What does it actually mean for an English Learner to be “engaged” in school? Please refer to Google doc for your group's specific research question around engagement. bit.ly/315group
- During the observation, remember to only collect data that focuses on student actions and behaviors that are related to the research question.
- For specific guidelines on both the observation and debrief, please see the accompanying materials here. It may be helpful to print these out and bring with you to the visit.
- On May 17th, at our final ELC, we will debrief the visits as an entire group.
