ELPAC Assessment Window Input – TIME SENSITIVE!

Date: 11/20/2014
Author: Jenn Guerrero

CDE is collecting input on when the four-month window for ELPAC testing should be scheduled. (ELPAC will replace the CELDT in 2016-17.) Input must be returned to them . Please review this input form (doc) and return it directly to the CDE email address provided on the form.

Legislation requires that the window begin after January 1. The general consensus from the Bilingual Coordinators Network meeting was that a window starting on January 15 and extending to May 15 would maximize the time that districts have to give the ELPAC before needing to administer Smarter Balance Assessments. The attached document lays out the proposed timeline for the various reports generated by the English language development assessments so that you can consider the timing of these as you make your recommendations.
