2025-26 SCOE Literacy Fellowship
The 2025-26 SCOE Literacy Fellowship will provide educators with training in structured, systematic, multi-sensory literacy instruction that is grounded in the Science of Reading. Coupled with just-in-time coaching support and participation in a county-wide Community of Practice, teachers will be supported in the implementation of the Orton-Gillingham approach and will be better equipped to support all students, including at-risk readers and students with dyslexia.
Who should apply?
- Teachers with a self-contained class of students in grades
K-3 (general education) or K-6 (special education) or who
are able to work with a consistent group of students over
the course of the school year - Educators who are interested in providing coaching
support for participating teachers.
What is the commitment?
- Attendance at a 40-hour Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham
training, plus a one-day morphology training - Implementation of OG strategies in the classroom
- Regular coaching and support
- Quarterly collaboration at the Fellowship meetings
- Monthly coaching collaboratives (coaches only)
In recognition of the level of commitment to the Literacy Fellowship, stipends will be awarded to participating teachers ($2,000) and coaches ($3,500). An additional $1,500 stipend will be available to those who participate in a summer training.
