Substitute Orientation (Virtual Offering) - Afternoon Session
This class is for anyone interested in registering as a substitute teacher through the SCOE Central Substitute System. Qualified candidates must attend this Substitute Orientation, hosted by SCOE Credentials, where we will review in detail what is required to become a substitute teacher in Sonoma County.
Prior to attending a Substitute Orientation, interested candidates must first meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a valid California teaching credential or service credential or Emergency Sub Permit
- Possess a Bachelor’s or higher degree. (The CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing's Basic Skills Requirement has been waived when applying for a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit until July of 2024; however if you satisfy the Requirement you can apply for a Permit with it as well. - Current enrollment in a regionally accredited four-year California college or university, completion of a minimum of 90 semester units of coursework from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university, and satisfaction of the Basic Skills Requirement

This class is conducted as a Zoom meeting.
