Instituto de padres de Aprendices Multilingües y Migrantes 2024 ~ 2024 Multilingual Learner and Migrant Parent Institute

Este taller es gratuito para todos los padres de estudiantes multilingües y se llevará a cabo en español. Copatrocinado por Educación para Migrantes y la Oficina de Educación del Condado de Sonoma, el Instituto para Estudiantes Multilingües y Padres Migrantes es un taller anual dedicado a empoderar a los padres de estudiantes multilingües. Se anima a los distritos a enviar miembros de sus Comités Asesores de Padres de Estudiantes de Inglés, así como a cualquier otro padre de Estudiantes de Inglés que esté interesado.

Se ofrecerá café y un desayuno ligero por la mañana y también se ofrecerá almuerzo a mitad del evento.

This workshop is free for all parents of multilingual learners and will be conducted in Spanish. Co-sponsored by Migrant Education and the Sonoma County Office of Education, the Multilingual Learner and Migrant Parent Institute is an annual workshop dedicated to empowering parents of multilingual learners. Districts are encouraged to send members of their English Learner Parent Advisory Committees, as well as any other parents of English Learners who are interested.

Coffee and light breakfast refreshments will be provided in the morning and lunch will be provided in the afternoon.

Óscar Chávez shares his compelling journey from an undocumented child in California's Central Valley to embodying the American dream. Sharing his personal experience of the challenges and triumphs his family faced, he offers unique insights into the immigrant experience, discovering the power of resilience, determination, and the universal pursuit of a better life.

Título: La Tecnología Y El Bienestar: Como hablar con sus hijos de los Riesgos De La Tecnología y Los Afectos a la Salud Mental / Title: Wellness & Technology: How to communicate with your children about the current Risks and the Effects of on their Mental Health

Esta Sesión se centrará en la educación sobre los riesgos de la tecnología sin supervisión para los niños/jóvenes. Meztli María Aviña, Psicoterapeuta repasará cómo la tecnología afecta la salud mental y los participantes aprenderán sobre los beneficios que tiene si se usa adecuadamente. Los participantes se llevarán las herramientas necesarias para apoyar a sus Jóvenes mientras continúan su viaje tecnológico.

This session will focus on education around the risks of unsupervised technology for children. Meztli María Aviña; LMFT will review how technology affects mental health as well as learn about the benefits that technology has if it is used appropriately. Participants will walk away with the tools necessary to support their youth as they continue their technological journey.
