A Festive Thought: Art Through the Minds of Young Children
Art is a language for all children to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and ideas about the world around them. "A Festive Thought: Art Through the Minds of Young Children" is a countywide early childhood art project that supports educators of young learners in integrating visual art across the curriculum.
Educators who participate in this art project will:
- Engage in the "A Festive Thought" art project as a learner at SCOE on Tuesday, February 6th, from 4:00-6:30pm
- Learn about the California Preschool Learning Foundations for Visual Art and make connections to other content area domains
- Develop instructional strategies to facilitate a visual art project with Preschool, TK, or Kindergarten age students
- Attend two informational Zoom sessions on Wednesday,February 21st from 3:30pm to 4:30pm AND Wednesday, March 27th from 3:30pm to 4:30pm
- Support students in showcasing their artwork at the "A Festive Thought" showcase at SCOE on Thursday, April 4th, from 4:00-6:30pm
