SCOE to host Transition Fair, Prom for special education students
The Sonoma County Office of Education is inviting students with disabilities from around the county to two fun and exciting events it has planned this February and March, 2016: A Transition Fair focusing on job and life-after-school opportunities for students in middles school, high school, and beyond, and a Prom for 14-26-year-olds with special needs.
The first is the eighth annual Transition Fair (Flier, English | Flier, Spanish), which provides students with valuable information about higher education, vocational training, employment opportunities, residential options, mental health services, adult day programs and more. It takes place on Wednesday, February 10 and is for students with disabilities in middle school, high school, or even post-secondary education.
Then, the third annual Prom for 14 to 26-year-olds will take place March 5. It's an opportunity for youths to dress up in their finest, socialize, and hit the red carpet. Learn more here.
