Emergency Information and Resources for SCOE Employees

10/12/2017 -

SCOE will be closed through the end of this week (through Friday, Oct. 13). Barring a change in circumstances, SCOE will reopen Monday, Oct. 16 (all staff). Daytime classes/trainings in the SCOE facility, however, are cancelled for the week of Monday, Oct. 16.

For those who need it, there is a working shower and several lockers available to SCOE employees and their families at the Skylane facility beginning Monday. Kitchens are also operational and can be used during SCOE business hours.

If you are a special education/alternative education teacher and the district where you work is closed Monday, please check with your manager to see where you should report.

If you can't come in on Monday, please put in for leave to cover your time off. You can use the Aesop time management system if you are able. Otherwise, email your supervisor or leave a phone message to let them know.

Employee Support and Assistance

SCOE is working to find ways to support the many employees who have lost their homes in this devastating fire. We will provide more information on this soon. In the meantime, please refrain from using SCOE email (the SCOE list serv) to request services. We want to be sure to keep work email clear for official purposes. We also want to ensure all employees have equal access to any services that are provided. Thank you for your cooperation in this regard.

We know that many SCOE employees want to help their colleagues, and we greatly appreciate this generosity. To this end, if you have room in your home for displaced employees, please use this Google Sheet to show your availability. This will help in connecting displaced employees with a safe place to stay.

Employees are also eligible for free mental health services under the Employee Assistance Plan. Learn more at scoe.org/benefits.

Thank you all for your perseverance during this difficult time. As a community, we will get through it together.
