How do you describe your job to people outside SCOE?
Depends on the day (the job changes from day to day).

Where did you grow up?
Northeast Africa—Eritrea. I came to the United States in 1985.

Who was your favorite childhood teacher and why?
Ms. Anna. She was a very good teacher. When we started school in the morning, we prayed. After we prayed, we did a small exercise. If you had weak strengths, she would work with you in your free time to get better.

What is your favorite thing about working for SCOE?
The people.

What is one of your most memorable moments as a SCOE employee?
I just miss the people who have retired.

Outside of work, what is your favorite hobby or way to unwind?
Walking with my son or taking my son to the movies.

What is your favorite place in Sonoma County?
Santa Rosa

What is one thing that might surprise people to learn about you?
People are surprised about my story (of what I experienced) in my country.
