Managing Serious Behavior (MSB), Part 1

Managing Student Behavior (MSB) is a program developed by the Sonoma County SELPA and district behavior specialists to address the issues of positive behavioral intervention and emergency techniques. This is a two-part training that results in certification by the Sonoma County SELPA. Once training is completed, certification is good for two years and satisfies the initial or re-certification requirement.

Part 1 of the training
Part 1 is geared toward preventative strategies and interventions to avoid aggressive student behavior. It also covers the escalation cycle. The Part 1 workshop will be held on August 8th, 2017, 8:30am-3:00pm, at SCOE. The workshop is open to all teachers, administrators, and assistants.

Part 2 of the training
Part 2 is contingent upon successful completion of Part 1. This portion of the training covers crisis communication, escape and evade, and SELPA-approved emergency techniques. Part 2 workshop will be take place on August 9th, 8:30am-3:00pm, and is open to those participants who have successfully completed Part 1. Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
